OOC: It's ok...
Kiko finally lowered her hands and nodded slowly. "Ok," she said softly and watched him disappear into the trees. She debated whether to shift, it being easier for her to stay hidden, but finally sided against it. If she did and was caught, she wouldn't be able to yell for help.

Sighing softly, she ran into the trees after the male, ducking under several low branches. Her eyes shifted to either side then quickly caught up with the male, shrinking herself close to his side as she looked around again, slowly.

(OoC: sorry it took so long to respond. Been busy with some... stuff.)
Spencer laughed a hidden laugh. He had seen Kiko's ears, but didn't want to say he had to her. Spencer knew she wasn't human and didn't rightfully care. He was part bird.

"Coast is clear, we gotta keep moving. I can't fly, it will be too obvious." Spencer darted silently into the tree line that surrounded the clearing. The forest was dark and damp, a perfect place to hide.

Kiko left her eyes closed, forcing her form to relax as she was curled up. Shifting at the landing, she opened her eyes and took a step back as she was set on her feet. She nodded once and looked around a bit worriedly. She back in the one place she didn't want to be and without paying much attention, her neko ears stood up straight on her skull. They began to flick softly as she listened for any noises.

"It's all right," she finally answered in a soft voice. Finally the realization hit her that her ears were no longer hidden, both sleeve covered hands raised to cover her ears as she buried them into her hair. She wondered if the male had seen the ears and lowered her hands back to her sides as she continued to look around.

Spencer didn't feel the need to look back at the village. He knew the looks of disbelief or fear that would be in the villagers' eyes after seeing him take off. Instead, he scanned the ground below him, slightly falling so his landing would be more discrete. He found a clearing and dropped down there. He set down Kiko as he landed on the ground. "Sorry for not telling you about that. Gotta work on instinct sometimes." his eyes weren't on Kiko, however. He was scanning the clearing and seperating the scents in the air. Things appeared safe for the time being.

She watched the door worriedly, glancing between it and the male. Her instincts told her to take off the other way and run as far and as fast as she could. She pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and forced herself to stand where she was. Her hair pushed into her face as the male charged at the door and one hand raised to push the hair away from her eyes. She blinked several times as the door fell and could only smile at the thought of a person laying under the door.

She curled up as she was lifted off the ground, never happy when she was picked up. Turning her head, she looked over her shoulder and shifted her large eyes around to find the others she knew where in the town. She saw no one and curled up a bit more, trying to make herself small in worry.

Spencer's eyelids lowered and sarcastic remarks flooded his head at that last remark, but he shoved them away and started thinking. The person on the other side of the door was no one he had known and his friends who owned this house paid the rent, never socialized with the other villagers, and had no debts so no one from the village would visit them. Only one course of action remained. Spencer crouched down and charged through the wooden door at full speed, taking it down and the person on the other side. Quickly, he jumped back into the house, picked up Kiko, ran back outside, and jumped into the air flying away from the village.

The neko nodded slowly as her right hand folded over her left and they rested in front of her chin. "I'm ready," she repeated and padded across the floor, leaning against the wall near the door. Her eyes rested on the floor and she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. At the knock, she jumped back a foot or so and sighed, resting one hand over her heart. Worry took over her shock and she slid across the floor to stand near the male. "Who do you think it is?" she whispered, glancing from the door to him then back.

"Leave that to me. Just be ready to lift off in a few minutes." Spencer stepped away from the steps and did a few stretches to loosen up his wing muscles. They needed to get out of there as soon as possible obivously, but being too rash would lead them into be hit, wounded, and most likely captured. He'd just finished his last stretch when he heard a knock on the door. He grew tense and ready for a fight.

Kiko jumped slightly as the male called up to her. Quickly her ears buried into her hair and her tail curled around her upper thigh. She forced herself to pull the door open and slip into the hall, worry on her face as she slowly moved down the stairs. "I'm ready. But I don't understand how we're going to be able to get past the hunters if they are looking for me." Softly she bit at her bottom lip, one sleeve covered hand raising to rest against her mouth.

Spencer was already up when he heard Kiko upstairs. "Good, I was just about to go and wake you up." he called up to her. "There are people outside with weapons, roaming the village. I can only suspect who they're after." he paused a second to see if Beast would have any objections to the plan of running away, but he remained silent. "Get ready because we're leaving as quickly as possbile."

Her ears twitched at the sounds from the house and she opened her eyes drowsily as she heard whispering. She groaned softly and buried her face into the blanket before falling back asleep.

The sun hit her eyes and she sat up. Using her palm, she rubbed at her eyes as her ears shifted to hear any sound. It was silent as far as she could tell and slid off the bed to move to the small window looking up at the sky then toward the forest that she could see. Shivering softly at the sight, she turned away from the window and padded her way to the door. Gently she pulled it open and stuck her head out, looking to either way.

Spencer wasn't asleep. He was, instead, using this time to converse with Beast.
Hey, this is a plain little village compared to what we know the Marines have set up fo their corporation. Why would there be more then one big rich guy out here?
"I don't know. People have reasons for everything. Whether or not that man is or is not who we're looking for, it's our only lead and that's somethign we can agree on." he whispered to Beast.
Well, yeah.... but who's to say that girl isn't lying to us?
"Oh? What's this? Mr. Instinct thinking logically?"
Urk...
"Just fall asleep. She didn't run away or try to kill us. Isn't that proof enough?" Spencer said as he yanwed and finally drifted into a light slumber.

She smiled softly at him. "Yes, I know that all too well." Her hands dropped back to her sides after he took the bowl and nodded. "I hope you're right. I wouldn't want to pull you into anything dangerous." She blinked, her eyes widening slightly at the feather. She nodded slowly. "That is very amazing." Her gaze shifted from the feather when he spoke again from the stairs. "Um, right. Thank you," she said slowly. Once she heard the door close, her ears perked high on her and the tail fell against the back of her legs as the tip twitched softly.

Slowly she moved up the stairs and down the hall, looking at the doors till she found the one with the odd markings that she guessed was what the male had meant. Opening the door, she slipped into the room and padded across the floor. She curled up in the middle of bed, her tail resting over her waist as the tip twitched in her sleep.

He smilied at her. "Well, you're one of the few people who think that way. There are many cruel, prejustice people in this world." He took the bowl from her. "If I am after that man, I wouldn't kill him. I'm not into bloody, gorey investigations. Subtle and quick is my way of doing things. And those hunters should be of no problem either." He plucked a feather from his right wing and felt it harden into it's steeley density. He jammed it into the wall. "See? I'll leave that there to make sure my friends know I was here." He chuckled and walked halfway up the steps. "Looks like you'll be staying the night here. You're room is the one with the strange engraving in the door. G'night." He walked the rest of the stairs and went into his room for some sleep.

Kiko giggled softly, quickly raising one sleeved hand to rest over her mouth and she looked a bit surprised. "I surely hope it's not the same man." She shuddered softly as she thought about it and shook her head to dislodge the images in her mind. Slowly she stood and shook her head once more. "I don't think you're a freak at all." Her shoulders raised slightly and lowered slowly, her gaze falling to the ground in front of her and to the bowl. She crouched and picked it up before standing again. "I'm not sure where to start. I definitely don't want to go out there if those hunters are still searching." She gave a quick and worried glance to the door, her tail curling even tighter around her thigh in her fear.

"Hmmm... well, I'm after an important business-man myself. He was or still might be working with the comapny that gave me these," Spencer pointed to his wings, "and turned me into a freak of nature. I need info from him, simple as that." Spencer stood up and stretched. "Of course, we don't know if the man who's chasing you is who I'm after. I'll help, don't worry. So where shall we begin?"

Kiko nodded again and set the empty bowl down in front of her. "Yes, I can see that." She ducked her head for a moment then raised it again and blinked at him.

"My story?" she asked slowly. She sat back onto her ankles and sighed softly. "Well, you see where I'm from, my kind is highly prized. After my mother's death, I was alone and too young to know how to fend for myself or about the high price on my kind. A very powerful man took me in when I was eleven. I was with him until I turned fifteen. He threw me out after that, he had gotten a new girl. She didn't like me all that much and beat me up. I was weak and got hurt more than I should have. Well, after he threw me out, he found out I had stolen important documents. It wasn't long before hunters came after me. They had given up the search a few months ago but they recieved a tip that I was in this area and came after me again. I was barely able to escape them and that's how I ended up here. I lost the documents, I'm afraid. They fell into a river a few miles from here. Well, I sort of threw them into the river," she looked a bit guilty at her last comment before falling silent.

"I don't know. Whatever will happen will happen. I can't really figure anything out until I know what's going on." Spencer paused a minute. "I may look average, but I'm a very skilled warrior in several different ways. So please, begin your story." he most definatly would not take no for an answer if he was going to help.

Slowly the neko nodded, tipping the bowl slowly in her hands. The soup tipped up the sides but nothing close to overflowing. "Yeah, you're probably right." She didn't sound convincing or convinced herself but she gave a small smile none the less.

Her gaze raised from the bowl to the male as the very tips of her ears poked from her head. She sensed a change in the male, but it had come on so suddenly, she wasn't sure if she was sensing anything right. Slowly she shook her head, burrowing her ears back into her hair. "So.. What happens now?"

"Hm... I don't know. This is a big town so it might just be a villager. I haven't memorized all the scents of the villagers yet, so I can't say it is. It could be a new group of people altogether." He shrugged, not knowing the answer.
Yaaawwwn... G'mornin', kid... Oh? HEY!! THAT'S MY SOUP!
Spencer sighed. Beast was awake and complaining... again. Thank god only he can hear Beast. Maybe that was sort of a bad thing, in a way.

Kiko sat on the floor, finishing off the apple and turned the core around in her fingers. She raised her eyes from it at the sound of the bowls and watched him. Once he came toward her, she shrank back from him and gingerly took the bowl. She watched him carefully for a few long moments before gently sipping at the watery soup.

She glanced around as she drank the soup then glanced over her shoulder at the door. "Who do you think is out there?" she asked with a bit of worry and curiousity in her voice. She turned back to look at him after a long moment and lowered her gaze drinking the soup.

He went back to stirring the pot silently. He could hear people off in the distance, but he wasn't sure who they were. He wasn't sure if he should tell the girl either. He would remain silent until he pulled out two bowls from the cupboards. The people who lived in this house were old friends of his so he knew they wouldn't care that he was living here or using their dishes for a little while. He poured out some watery soup that had some beef chunks floating in it into the two bowls. There was plenty of the stew left, but he would save it for a later time. He handed the girl one of the bowls and sat down a few inches across from her. He started sipping his stew as well.

The neko blinked and nodded slowly, not really understanding what he meant. She quickly dropped her gaze from the pot and looked up at him from under her short bangs. Her hands reached out on instinct and she caught the apple in the long sleeves of her outfit. "Thank you.." She rolled the apple around in her palms for a few seconds before taking a small bite from it. Blinking, she looked at it before slowly sitting down on the ground and munching on the apple happily.

Spencer laughed slightly. "The same way I got these wings. I had increased senses "put" into me." He noticed her eyeing the pot. "It's a thin beef stew. It's not ready so you'll have to wait a while if you would want any." He tossed her an apple from his pack. "Eat up and then you can explain."

The neko blinked her large eyes and looked a bit surprised at the male. She glanced to the movement for a moment, noticing the wings and now her curiousity was taking over her fear. Slowly she stood up straight and the tips of her ears poked out of her hair and she listened a long second.

Finally the ears relaxed in her hair and she nodded slowly. "Ok.." She sniffed softly, the smell of whatever was in the pot hitting her nose. "So, how do you know all that?" she asked, her voice still a bit shakey.
